The Waitemata Serious Crash Unit is seeking witnesses to an incident on the Southern Motorway in the early morning or 20th April 2012. A motorcyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a car travelling in the wrong direction on the motorway.
The car allegedly carried on after the crash, but minutes later struck a tree on the Princess Street southbound on-ramp. The male driver is now assisting police with their enquiries.
A motorcyclist was taking to Palmerston North Hospital with serious head injuries this morning.
The accident is reported to have happened when a car and motorcycle collided at Mt Biggs, at a corner on SH3 and Penny Road near the Ohakea Air Force Base.
It is unclear whether the motorcyclist was heading to the air show or not.
Class 6 (motorcycle) restricted licence tests
On 27 February 2012 changes were introduced to graduated driver licensing system for motorcycles. The restricted licence test becomes longer and the full licence test is shorter.
In effect, both the test (and the test fees) will swap.
As of March 2012 the NzCruiserGroup.co.nz site will change from a NZ only site to include International riders/owners of Cruisers and Tourers,
It will be owned and operated by Kimberly Jansen,(whom some of you will already know).
Kimberly has vast experience in the running of websites, and She will be developing the site further as time goes on with expanded forums & many other features.
In an effort to make our roads safer, as of 5am on Sunday 25 March 2012 two of the giveway rules in New Zealand will be changing.
All traffic signals and signs at intersections that show road users what they need to do will not change. These still need to be obeyed.
These changes will becoming in to effect just in time for the easter holiday.
ZephyrPro Detailing / Polishing Products for Bikes (or cars).
I was introduced to this stuff a short while ago and have just finished using it on my chrome and aluminium, screen and tank with great results too.
Simple to apply with a terry cloth, wait a minute to dry and polish out, simple and effortless. I thoroughly recommend it.
To add a little sound to the stock system, have a look at these. great sound, simple to fit, it comes with everything required EXCEPT new muffler gaskets, but you may not need them if you are careful.
The Power Commander 5 (PC-V) with optional Autotune.
If its extra performance you want, or you have fitted after market pipes / Air filters etc then this is an option for you.
It comes with software to load on your laptop, and is infinetly adjustable, each cylinder, each gear
The power commander 5 in its stock form only takes a matter of 30 minutes to fit most models, tuning is acheived by connecting your Computer/laptop and making adjustments directly into the map. needless to say you can go with an optimized map downloaded from the manufacturer or you can also put it on a dynotune machine and adjust it perfectly.
Took the 1500 in for its 18000km service today and ws meant to pick up the C109RT, unfortunately the demo one they had went back to Suk HQ and the new one they were setting up was still resting in its crate, all the bling for the RT was still 2 weeks away so Ill have to return again to take it for a run when its together.
So, I took a new M109R home for the day. Leapt on kicked her into life and shot off for a blat, its been a year or more since my last run on a m109r and it did bring back some reflections I had at that time when trying to decide between 109 or 90.
Pricing around $23995 Thanks to Holeshot Motorcycles on the North Shore, I took the 1600cc Triumph Thunderbird out and put it through its paces.First impressions, a Classic looking Trumpy with a much improved drivers seat to the earlier versions, and ofcourse a much up spec'd power plant.
Everything in easy reach, with (bars & pegs) just where it needed to be for my size. things do look a little "short" compared to my current cruiser which is a mite longer in length & wheelbase but nothing to write home about, its wheelbase certainly alows for spritely corners.
Start up has that usual sound of a Nasa rocket firing sequence as the Fuel injection and management system hums, as it sets up all required for ignition.
